Funeral services for Josephine "Jo" Seelke, 90, of Cleo Springs will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at the Aline United Methodist Church. The Reverend Gary Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in the Square Cedar Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Viewing will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Josephine Seelke was born October 11, 1921, in Hillsboro, Kansas, to Isaac and Margaret (Penner) Foth and passed away at her home in Cleo Springs, Oklahoma on November 19, 2011
Jo grew up in Hillsboro and graduated from High School there. Following high school they moved to Fairview, Oklahoma where she worked at Foster's Cleaners. She married William "Bill" Seelke on February 11, 1955 in Amarillo, Texas. They farmed in Okeene, Oklahoma for a few years and then moved to Cleo Springs, where they also farmed. Jo kept very busy helping on the farm, milking cows and raising their four children. She also worked at Hi-Way Café, where she was employed as a waitress for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Cleo Springs. Jo was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by; two sons, Bob and Jody Seelke of Cleo Springs, Jack and Jill Seelke of Ringwood; two daughters, Mary Jo Seelke and Elvis Austin, and Jane Jones, all of Cleo Springs; one sister, Lillian Kelin of Hot Springs, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents and three sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cleo Springs United Methodist Church or Circle of Love Hospice, with Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. acting as custodians of the funds.
