Funeral Services for Juliann Linville, 88, of Fairview, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2012, at the Central Christian Church in Fairview, Oklahoma with the Reverend Ronnie Hopkins officiating.

Juliann Linville was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on October 8, 1924 to Lester and Julia Gibson Brown and passed away December 29, 2012 in Fairview, Oklahoma.

She had two siblings, Juanita and Tom Wood. She was raised in the Pentecostal Church and was baptized in her childhood. Juliann passed away on December 29, 2012 at the Fairview Regional Hospital.

She was raised in Oklahoma City by her mother and step-father, Theo Wood. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1942. Juliann worked in a restaurant in Oklahoma City during high school and had a frequent customer named James (Jim) George Linville, who was smitten with her. Jim courted her while on leave from the Navy and after he survived the battle of Pearl Harbor and other Naval deployments, he returned and married her on August 10, 1943.

Juliann was a career military wife. She followed Jim from base to base and port to port. Prior to being stationed overseas they started their family. In 1946 they had their first child, Marsha Rae, who was born in Oklahoma City. In 1948 they had their second child, Barbara Jo, also in Oklahoma City. Their final child, Dwight James, was born in 1951 in Lake Charles, LA. In 1952 they started their overseas tours living in such locations as Hawaii and The Philippines.

After Jim retired from the Navy, the Linville family moved to Oregon. Juliann worked for the first time since having children in Salem as a seamstress for the Hillcrest Reformatory School for Girls. In 1981, they relocated to Cheyenne Valley, OK. Juliann spent this time caring for Jim's mother Pearl, who lived with them.

After Jim passed away in 1991, Juliann moved into Fairview and was very active serving as Treasure of the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion and President of the Senior Citizen Center. She worked diligently to improve the quality of the organizations she was involved in, which was evident when a new building was built for the Senior Citizens due to a grant that she wrote. She also was a servant to her friends that she lived with at the Fairview Fellowship Apartments.

Juliann was known for her kind heart and her feistiness. She always put others' needs before her own. She was more likely to make sure her friends made it to a meal that to eat lunch herself. She had an infectious personality that made others want to be around her. She is sorely missed and will always be remembered by her family and friends with love and fondness. Rest in peace Juliann, Julie, Jan, Mama, Grandma, GG!

She is survived by her brother Tom Wood of Oklahoma City, OK.; her two daughters Marsha Bercutt of Portland, OR and Barbara Walker of Mustang, OK; her four grandchildren, Crystal Ross, Dwight Hansel, Lori Linville, and Kelli Linville; and her ten great-grandchildren, Abigail and Blake Ross, Madison, Jacob, Travyn, and Kaylen Hansel, Happy and Axl Schomaker, and Deondre and Kira Rand.

Also surviving her are Donnie Edwards and Janie Nipper who were related through Jim, but meant a great deal to Juliann and were loved as her own.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, her sister, and her son.
