Graveside service for Katherine "Irene" Buller, 86, of Fairview will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2013 at the Saron Mennonite Cemetery, Orienta, Oklahoma. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 a.m., at the Saron Mennonite Church in Orienta, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9am to 5 pm and Sunday from 1pm to 6 pm. The family will be at the funeral home from 2pm to 4pm Sunday if you would like to visit with them.

Irene was born August 19, 1926 in Nowata, Oklahoma to Abraham and Mary Pauls and passed away August 1, 2013. Irene then moved with her family to a farm at Medford. They moved to El Dorado, Kansas then to Elbing, Kansas. The family again moved and this time to Okeene, Oklahoma where they lived for ten years. They later moved to a farm at Cheyenne Valley, Oklahoma where Irene graduated from High School in 1944. In 1948 Irene married Eugene Buller in Orienta and made their home in Fairview. Gene and Irene also ran their own mowing business for more than 36 years. She truly enjoyed putting the finishing touches on a yard running the weed-eater. Irene worked as a cashier for many years in every grocery store in Fairview.

Irene loved to paint. She would paint scenes on old saw blades. Some of her other hobbies were fishing, embroidery, and playing board games. One of her favorite games was Skip-Bo and would go to the senior citizens building and play for hours. She was a faithful member of the Saron Mennonite Church and served on the food committee, Helping Hands Mission Society, and was a Sunday School Teacher. Irene was a hardworking and kind lady that will be truly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her son, Lonnie Buller and wife Marlena of Enid; three grandchildren, Emily Buller, Randy Buller and Kevin Buller, one brother Willis Pauls and wife Roberta, one sister, Janiece Pauls, along with a host of friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Gene, 2 sister-in-laws, and one brother-in-law.
