Memorial services for Larry E. Brown will be held at 10:00 am October 25, 2014 at the Free Will Baptist Church in Blackwell, OK. Reverend Kevin Bookout will officiate. Arrangements by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.
Larry Eugene Brown was born August 11, 1945 to Robert and Freda (Coffey) Brown in Blackwell, OK. Larry attended Blackwell Schools. He joined the United States Marine Corp at the young age of seventeen. He was honorably discharged after serving three tours in Vietnam. Larry returned home and went to work for Conoco Gas Company until his retirement in 2000.
Larry married Linda LaBlue on June 14, 1969. They were blessed with two girls, Jeannie and Marlene. Then on April 1, 1978 he married Sue Smith and the family grew with the addition of son, Tim. Larry was very involved with the VFW and was commander for a time. He also enjoyed drawing and art work, was a coin collector with a large collection and had a passion for the Chevy Camaro. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Malaki, two brothers and a sister.
He is survived by daughters: Jeannie and Bill Fancher of Fairview, OK, Marlene Rath of Enid, OK, sons; Timothy and Rachel Brown of Blackwell, OK and Sean Brown of Billings, MT, brothers; Dennis Brown , Steve Ross, sisters; Carrol Belair, Jeanie Delaney, and Sherry Coward, twelve grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Blackwell VFW with the Fairview Funeral Home Inc acting as custodians of the funds.
