Leonard Harley Koehn was born to Nathaniel and Linda Kehn Koehn on June 27, 1930 at the family farm south of Fairview, Oklahoma. He passed away in his sleep at the Fairview Fellowship Home on August 11, 2015, reaching the age of 85 years.

He was the 5th of 10 children, so his childhood years were full of work and fun. He attended Banner School and grew up to become a strong young man with good work ethics. In his early twenties, he got acquainted with Joy Belle Penner while cutting wheat in Kansas. They were married at Enid, Oklahoma on July 8th, 1952. The first few years were spent at Fairview, and later moved to the Ringwood area where they spent the remainder of their married life. Their home was blessed with a son Leon and a daughter Kara.

Leonard loved farm life, working for others the first few years of their marriage, and later on spent 47 years with his own dairy. After we quit the dairy, Dad had a very nice cattle herd he was very proud of. He always had a special dog, but especially we remember a stray dog named Buster that turned into a fantastic cow dog that stayed for nearly twenty years. He enjoyed working on old tractors, and was very mechanically minded. He loved to fish, and spent many evenings with his family at the local ponds, making precious memories of dad and grandpa that we cherish today. Mom is a wonderful cook, and Dad enjoyed her wonderful treats. He also enjoyed listening to music, both gospel and country.

Family was important to Leonard, and we as a family were very close. We spent countless hours together, and will miss his laughter, his smile, and his love. Leonard had a special bond with his grandsons. He spent many hour on tractor with them and teaching them mechanics. Eric was born on his 50 th birthday and together they celebrated many birthdays.  The last few months of his life were spent in the hospital and rest home. With heavy hearts, we accept his passing, realizing his quality of life was diminishing.

Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joy Belle; son Leon and wife Sherry of Ringwood; daughter Kara and husband Dennis Harrell of Tulsa; two grandsons, Ryan Koehn and Eric Koehn and his wife Denae'; 3 great-grandchildren, Eli Harley, Noah Edward, and Nathanial Jacob Koehn all of Ringwood. He also leaves three brothers; Lawrence Koehn, Claude and wife Elsie Koehn, and Martin and wife June Koehn of Ringwood, one sister; Rosetta and husband Milford Schmidt of Livingston, CA; two sister-in-laws, Juanita Koehn of Okeene and Mary Helen Koehn of Tulsa, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Robert, Harold, Mark, and Mike and one sister, Wilma.

Memorial donations can be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation-Heart or Cancer Division with the funeral home acting as custodian.
