Obituary

Funeral services for L.D. Cravens, 76, of Fairview, Oklahoma will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Homestead Bible Church in Homestead, Oklahoma with Lonnie Ott officiating. Burial will follow at Homestead Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

L.D. was born Leonard Dixon Cravens, in Okeene, Oklahoma on February 27, 1938 to Leonard Arthur and Effie Louise (Dixon) Cravens and passed away at his home in Fairview on May 16, 2014. He attended grade school in Homestead and then attended high school in Okeene. He married Janie Wahl in 1954 and to this union was born a son, Tim and four daughters, Terri, Kellye, Lisa and Lori.

L.D. owned and operated an oil field service company but he was primarily a devoted farmer and rancher in Homestead for the majority of his life until death.

Over the years L.D. enjoyed many different activities including: fishing, boating, water skiing, horseback riding, working cattle, attending rodeos, rattlesnake hunting, roller-skating and enjoying visits with his children, grandchildren and great grandchild.

He was a devoted friend to many, always with a welcoming spirit about him. He loved to socialize and joke around. He took great pride in his family and all the stages of their lives.

Leaving behind to miss him are his daughters; Terri Cravens of Irving, TX, Kellye Judkins of Bethany, OK, Lisa O'hern of Yukon, OK, Lori Cravens of Fairview, OK and his sons Tim Cravens and wife Nancy of Carrollton, TX and David Wilczek and wife Karina of Loyal, OK and nieces and nephew. His grandchildren are: Brock Elliot and child, Starla of Yukon, OK; Steven Cravens of Tulsa, OK ;Tommy and Brittaney Cravens of Carrollton, TX; Brooklyn and Brayden Judkins of Bethany, OK and Taylor Wilczek of Loyal, OK.

Preceding him in death was his father, Leonard, his mother, Louise and sister, June.

Memorial contributions may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research-Cancer division, with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds.
