Funeral services for Lilburn Allen Inman, 81, of Fairview, will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2011, at the Cheyenne Valley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Woody Hamon officiating. Burial will follow at Lone Star Cemetery.
Lilburn was born at Belva, OK, June 17, 1929 to Thomas Jefferson and Beulah Avon (Brown) Inman, the sixth of ten children and passed away May 24, 2011 at the Fairview Fellowship Home.
He attended and graduated from Cheyenne Valley School, and in May of 1950 he married Margaret Rose Conaway. With the exception of two years as a Sears appliance repairman in Albuquerque, the couple have spent their life together in Major County. When his Father-in-law's health prompted their return to Oklahoma, he took over the family farm while working other jobs, always providing for his family. Among those jobs, dozer operator, truck driver, custom harvester and fence builder, from which he completely retired at the age of 80.
Over the years, he enjoyed memberships in the Waynoka Saddle Club, Sportsman's Club and Cheyenne Valley United Methodist Church; league bowling and pitching horseshoes; but mostly playing with his grandkids.
Leaving behind to miss him are his wife, Margaret of 61 years, his children: Gregg and wife Rita of Waynoka, Gary and friend Marcia of Stratford, Tommy and wife Elizabeth of Skiatook, James and wife Sharon of Waynoka, LaRhonda Rudd and husband Randy of Tonkawa; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His siblings: RJ and wife Helen of Fairview, Ines Bouse of Enid, Delfred and wife Ila of Waynoka, Virginia Harmon of Miller, MO, Susie Sutherland of Woodward, Ardena Bartlow and husband Rex of Ottowa, KS and Darlene Lyon and husband Gary of Woodward.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers Eugene and Gerald Dean, and his first grandchild, Stephanie.
