On December 12, 1944 Lloyd William McDonald was born in a small, white stucco house in Longdale, Oklahoma. He was number four of five siblings; Martha, Kenneth, Eldon Dean, Lloyd and Anita.

Lloyd grew up in Longdale. He completed 1 ^st through 8 ^th grades at the Longdale Schools. He worked really hard mowing yards for people and mowing the Longdale Cemetery to earn extra money. He would make .50 cents and sometimes a "whole" dollar on each yard mowed. Most of the time, he made only 5 to 10 dollars on the cemetery with a push mower.

He went 9 ^th through 12 ^th grades at Canton Schools and graduated with the Class of 1963. As he got older, he went harvesting in the summers to make extra money to help buy school clothes and have spending money.  On April 18 ^th , 1964 Lloyd married Kathey Chain, who he also had walked down the aisle with at High School Graduation.

They lived at Canton, Oklahoma where he worked at Strahn's Gas Station for a whole $15.00 a week. His next journey in life was to move to Sublette, Kansas where he worked at the Sublette CO-OP/Farmland Industries. During this time, two daughters; Tammera Rene and Trina Lanette were born. He worked his way up the ladder in the CO-OP and in 1974 moved to Wakeeney, Kansas where he became Manager of their CO-OP. After falling off of a big fertilizer spreader and crushing his ankle, Lloyd and the family moved back to Fairview to be close to family. His brother Kenneth put him to work "night watching" on oil field sites to keep him from starving while on Workman's Comp. During his journey with the oil field, he started his own trenching business burying "deadmen" at oil well sites. His next adventure was being manager at Burrell's Implement. In 1982 he began his own retail tire and auto service center "Lloyds Country Boy Tires". He truly enjoyed meeting the public and helping people. Because of health reasons, Lloyd sold the business and retired April of 2000. Lloyd became an avid gardener and a blue ribbon winner at the Major County Free Fair.

In the meantime in 1987 his first grand-child Devan William McDonald was born. He was a special addition to our family. When he was 3 ½ he came to live with us and his Grandpa became his Dad and raised him as his son.

In 1989, Marcus Lloyd Nichols was born. He is our second grandson. 1993 our first grand-daughter, Kathryn Marie Leonard came to us. And in 1998 our second grand-daughter, Destinee Danielle Shannon joined the family. Lloyd has four precious Great-Grand Children; Gunner William McDonald, Caine Alexander Nichols, Jaxtyn Rodger Lloyd McDonald and Londyn Raine Nichols.

Lloyd was truly a caring, family oriented person. He organized the first McDonald-Gillum Family Reunion in 1998. Through the years he became their #1 Auctioneer with his witty humorous style. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could make you laugh until you had tears in your eyes.

On October 9, 2015 at 12:44 a.m., Lloyd, surrounded by his loving family, went to be with our Lord and Savior. He will be truly missed by all who loved and knew him.
