Mabel Jean Trammell, 92, passed away on November 22, 2020 at Moundridge Manor, Moundridge, Kansas.  She was born August 20, 1928 in Deerfield, Kansas to Emas T. and Cora (Nightengale) Schmidt.

Mabel worked as a nurse's aide most of her life.  She loved to read and enjoyed painting. She also loved flowers, especially morning glories.  She enjoyed going camping, working in her yard, and traveling… taking quite a few trips on Amtrak

Mabel married James D. Trammell on September 16, 1947 in Cherokee, Oklahoma.

She is survived by two daughters, Beth Koehn, Riceville, Iowa, and Sharon Martens, Colorado Springs, Colorado; and one son, Perry and Alicia Trammell, Scio, Oregon; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leroy and Agnes Schmidt of Moundridge, Kansas, and Lincoln Schmidt of Bloomfield, Iowa.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; two daughters; one son; one son-in-law; and one great-grandson; six sisters; five brothers; three sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.

Friends may call from 11am to 1pm, Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Moundridge Funeral Home, Moundridge, Kansas.  Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Friday, November 27, at Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Fairview, Oklahoma.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Moundridge Manor in care of Moundridge Funeral Home, PO Box 410, Moundridge, Kansas 67107; and Fairview Funeral Home, Fairview, Oklahoma, are in charge of Oklahoma services.
