Funeral service for Margy B. Reese, 91, of Fairview, will be held at 10:30 a.m., September 14, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Fairview, Oklahoma with Reverend Rich Redinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Rusk Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Margy B. Reese was born May 16, 1922 to Dee and Ollie (Huffman) Baker in Fort Worth, Texas and died September 11, 2013 at the Fairview Regional Medical Center. As a small child she moved with her parents to Fairview where she grew up, graduating with the Class of 1940. Following high school she attended Cottey College, a P.E.O. school in Nevada, Missouri for one year and then transferred to Oklahoma A & M in Stillwater, OK.

Margy Baker married Lewis Reese on July, 18, 1942. Typical for a July day in Oklahoma, it was hot and with no air conditioning all of the candles for the ceremony melted. In September he received his orders to report to Santa Ana, California for basic training. For the next several years Margy followed him as he was assigned from base to base. After WWII the couple returned to Fairview and to the farm. She was active in the Fairview Methodist Church, serving as pianist, organist and member of the choir and UMW. She loved church and music so much that she was also active in churches in South Texas and Colorado. Margy enjoyed taking her children and grand-children fishing. Lewis, Margy and Betty Lou loved to travel. In the winter they would travel to Port Aransas or Rock Port, Texas. Their summers in South Fork, Colorado. They were members of several bridge clubs and enjoyed the fellowship. Margy was a longtime member of P.E.O., where she was a past president. She and Lewis were married over seventy years when he passed away in March of 2013.

Margy is survived by two daughters, Jean Ann (Jeanie) and husband David Galloway of Fairview and Betty Lou Reese of Edmond, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Michele Reese; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis, one son, Robert "Bob" L. Reese, and a brother Dee Baker Jr.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials may be made to Fairview UMC, P.E.O. or the non-profit where Betty Lou resides, EARC in Edmond, with the Fairview Funeral Home acting as custodian.
