Clinesmith
Jan 13, 1935 — Oct 4, 2023
Fairview
Memorial Services for Marilyn Grace (Keck) Clinesmith, 88, will be 2:30 p.m., Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Central Christian Church, Fairview, Oklahoma. Pastor Jeff Baker will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Marilyn Grace (Keck) Clinesmith was born on January 13, 1935 to Leon and Faith (LaMunyon) Keck in Fairview, Oklahoma. After multiple bouts of cancer for over a decade that left her mobility impaired, Marilyn finally transitioned from her home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.
Marilyn graduated from Fairview High School in 1953 and within months married a handsome young man from Cleo Springs, Clay Clinesmith, whom she had picked out years earlier while watching him play basketball. They lived in California while he completed serving in the U.S. Navy and then to Stillwater where he finished his college degree. They spent three years in New Mexico where Clay taught school before moving back home to Fairview.
She and Clay loved playing bridge and golf with a multitude of friends, boisterously celebrating good hands or good puts. They travelled extensively all over the world appreciating the varied cultures and sites. Marilyn was a master of finding beautiful items at bargain prices. She thoroughly enjoyed working with kids at the elementary school and participating in Mother's Club, bridge clubs, and Central Christian Church activities.
Marilyn is survived by brothers Hank, Joe, and Tom; son Trent and his wife Marla, daughters Cindy and her husband Lee Brower and Angela and her husband Keith Ingram, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Lonnie. After Clay's passing in 2021, Marilyn was blessed with the care and companionship of Carla, Regina, Irene, and Jan that allowed her to remain at her home, relishing life until her last days. She cherished her Sunday visits and church outings with her faithful grandson, Blair.
Memorials may be made to MAGB or the Central Christian Church with the funeral home acting as custodians.
