A Celebration of Life for Marion Isaac Knud Jensen, 94, will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the Central Christian Church in Fairview, Oklahoma. The Reverend Ronnie Hopkins will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 19 at Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Marion Jensen was born March 2, 1917 on a farm northwest of Fairview, Oklahoma to Samuel Jessen and Martha V (Hart) Jensen and passed away on September 16, 2011 at the Fairview Fellowship Home in Fairview, Oklahoma.

Marion grew up in Fairview and attended Fairview Schools, graduating from Fairview High School in 1936. He was a star half-back on the Fairview football team. Marion married Faye Eleanor Halstead on January 1, 1937 in Woodward, Oklahoma. This coming January they would have been married seventy-five years.

Marion enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp and served from 1943 to 1946. Following his honorable discharge in 1946, Marion worked for his brother Alfred as manager of Jensen's Appliances, Tires, and Sporting Goods for over forty years.

Marion became a member of the Fairview Central Christian Church in April of 1935. He served as a past Sunday School Superintendent, was a devoted Elder and elected as an Elder Emeritus in 2008. The church was very special to him. Marion was also active in the Fairview Lions Club for many years. He received the Lion's Melvin Jones Fellow International award for his dedicated humanitarian services. Marion was the oldest and continuous member of the Fairview Lions Club. He was also a member of the American Legion for over 65 years.

He is survived by his wife Faye Eleanor; one nephew, Larry Don Jensen and wife Sue of Fairview; and niece Lacretia Wilson of Cushing, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alfred Jensen and Homer Jensen; sister Josephine Prigmore; sisters-in-law Lavon Parks and Margaret Cofer; and brothers-in-law Leroy Halstead and Elmer George Halstead

Memorials may be made to the Fairview Christian Church or OMRF: Cancer Division, with Fairview Funeral Home Inc. acting as custodians.
