Mark Anthony Shafer was born June 8, 1956 in Paducah Kentucky to Erldean and Virginia Alice (McKinnis) Shafer and passed away January 20, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma.

Mark moved with his parents and lived in many places throughout the United States as Erldean's construction job led them. When he started school, the family returned to Fairview to make their home. Mark attended and graduated from Fairview High School in 1974. After high school, Mark continued his education at Northern Oklahoma Collage in Tonkawa in the field of nursing. Mark worked for Pete Eischen Chevrolet for many years as a vehicle transporter. Mark attended the 1st Baptist Church in Fairview. He loved to spend as much of his spare time as possible hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his daughter Renee Mulanax and her husband Mark of El Reno, Oklahoma; one son Trent Shafer of Hohenwald, Tennessee; his father Erldean Shafer of Fairview, Oklahoma; his brother Michael Shafer and his wife Jeannine of Ringwood, Oklahoma; one grandson, Devon Moody of El Reno and aunt Doris McKinnis of Fairview, Oklahoma.

Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother Alice Shafer.
