Celebration of Life for Miss "Kitty" Marquetta May Pembrook, 68, of Enid, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Longdale School Community Building in Longdale, Oklahoma. Reverend Ed Rollins will officiate. Burial will follow in Longdale Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Kitty was born July 16, 1948 to Walter George and Minnie Bell (Lyons) Pembrook in Fairview, Oklahoma, and on Tuesday April 25, 2017 the angels came and gathered our beloved sister, aunt, cousin and friend and took Kitty home.
At the young age of three, Kitty had an accident that left her mentally handicapped for the rest of her life. As a teenager, Kitty moved to Enid State School which later became NORCE. She lived at this facility for 50 years until September 2013 when Kitty moved to her own home in Enid with her three of her friends from NORCE.
Kitty worked at PACE, the Enid Recycling Center and 4R Kids until retiring in January 2017. Kitty's favorite things are her Baby Judy, dancing, music, shopping, jewelry, getting her hair and nails done, and the most important was eating chicken and cherry pie.
Those left to cherish Kitty's memory are her three brothers, Jimmie and Karlene Pembrook, Jerry and Lucy Pembrook both of Ringwood, Billy Pembrook and Michelle of Longdale; three sisters Veta Thomas and Jim Thomas of Fairview, Connie and Paul Hinchey of Enid, and Brenda Sue and David Johnson of Longdale, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, also Kitty's NORCE, I.O.I, and community families and friends.
Kitty is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Minnie Bell Pembrook, one brother Danny Fay Pembrook and her grandparents.
Memorials may be made through the Fairview Funeral Home to the 4R Kids of Enid Oklahoma.
