Marvin Curtis "Curt" Martin, age 75, of Weatherford, OK (formerly of Fairview, OK), passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021.
Curt was born on February 3, 1946 in Tulare, California to Marvin and Lena (Ford) Martin. As a teenager, Curt played rugby and was a wrestler for his high school. He was baptized in the Baptist Church as a young teen. Curt graduated from Bolsa Grande High School in Garden Grove, CA in 1964. On June 30, 1973 he married Macky Pond Bulmer in Fairview, Oklahoma where they raised their three children. Curt was an active member of the Fairview Wranglers for many years and served as a volunteer with the Fairview Fire Department. He retired from the City of Fairview, after a career spanning 41 years. He later returned to the City working part time.
Curt was an avid fisherman and hunter, with a passion for the outdoors and wildlife. He loved boating and fishing on Canton Lake and looked forward to the Annual Martin Campout all year. He also enjoyed playing cards with his deer camp buddies. Each October, Curt and Macky would road trip across the United States to see fall foliage together. This was a special time for both of them. Curt was loved and known by everyone in Fairview and he will be greatly missed.
Curt is survived by his wife of 48 years, Macky Martin; his daughter, Jamie Gadberry; his son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Amy Martin; and his grandchildren, Derrick Fast and Oz Martin. He is also survived by his siblings, Judy Wilson of Fairview; Penny Heath of Canton; and Hank Martin of Longdale.
Curt is preceded in death by his son, Matthew Martin; and his parents, Marvin and Lena Martin.
