Obituary

Chapel Services for Mary Angeline Rush, 89, of Fairview, will be held 10:00 am., Saturday, January 7th, 2012, at the Fairview Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Suderman officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 pm at the Bristow Cemetery in Bristow, Oklahoma.

Mary was born August 24, 1922 in Creek County near Bristow, Oklahoma to Ephraim and Florence (Smith) Young and passed away January 1, 2012 in Fairview, Oklahoma.

Mary attended school at Bristow, graduating in 1940. Following high school she attended Bristow Junior College graduating with an Associate's Degree in 1942. Upon completion she started working as a teacher for $75.00 a month in Newby, Oklahoma. She taught for a short time and with WWII in full swing, she worked in Tulsa for the Douglas Aircraft Plant. In 1946, after WWII, she married her returning war hero, Leo J. Rush Jr.. For the next few years she moved with Leo as his company would transfer him from location to location. They finally settled down in Lindsay, Oklahoma and she started working as a secretary for an insurance company. She worked there for the next several years until Leo retired and they moved to Madill, Oklahoma. She lived in Madill until after her husband passed away and with declining heath she moved one last time to Fairview to be close to her son Mike. Mary enjoyed cooking, crocheting and scrapbooking. When she was younger she was active in the local mothers club. However, her true loved was taking care of her husband Leo, son Mike and in the later years all of her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary was loved and will be truly missed.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Glenna Rush of Fairview, OK ; one brother, Ret. Col. Raymond Young of Greencastle, PA; four grandchildren: Holly Anderson of Fairview, OK, Michael J. Rush of Fairview, OK, Richard Chenault of Locust Grove, OK, and Jessica Calwonsen of Fairview, OK and 14 great grandchildren, Maddy, Kyle, Samantha, Holden, Michael, Hailee, Morgan, Christian, Asher, Harley, Micah, Corey, Alexys, Skyler and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Hoyt (Buddy) Young, Lee Roy Young and Manville Alfred (Al) Young; and sister; Maxine Gardner.

Memorials may be made to the Christian Motorcyclists Association with Fairview Funeral Home acting as custodians.
