Mary Lee Simons was born August 12, 1943 in El Reno, Oklahoma to John and Beulah (Hollingsworth) Smith and passed away January 1, 2010 at her home near Ringwood, Oklahoma, after a long battle with cancer.
Mary was born in El Reno, however, her father worked for the railroad and his job caused them to move all around the state, mostly in northwest Oklahoma. She finished her high school education in Ringwood. On January 3, 1961, she married Carl Simons in Fairview, Oklahoma and they settled in Ringwood. Mary and Carl were blessed with three children, Carlene, Roger and Jo Ann. After her children were all in school, Mary and Carlene Doane started a senior citizens transport service that later became MAGB. She worked for MAGB for more than 25 years. Mary was known as MOM to not only her own children but also many of the kids in FFA and around the area. She was secretary for the Ringwood Alumni for many years. Mary loved caring for her family, and her grandchildren were her special joy.
