Funeral Services for Michael "Mike" Wayne Harrison, 64, of Fairview, OK will be 2 p.m. January 25, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Fairview. The Reverend Derek Cox will officiate. Cremation will follow with burial in the Fairview Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.
Michael "Mike" Wayne Harrison was born in Okemah, Oklahoma on June 14,, 1953 to Hubert Grover Harrison and Carrie Mae (Wells) Harrison and passed away January 21, 2018 at 6:24 a.m. in Fairview, Oklahoma.
Mike graduated from Strother High School in 1971. He married Carla Kay Mallory on December 27, 1971. Mike worked for Blue Bell Wrangler Company for three years before moving to Holbrook, Arizona where he went to work for Southwest Paper Company. On May 14, 1974 his daughter Shelly Kay was born. In December of 1975 Mike returned to Oklahoma, to Fairview and his family, to work in the oilfield where he worked his way up to a stabber. On August 27, 1976 his son Randy Wayne was born. That same year he went to work for Ewbanks Machine Shop. In 1978 he went to work for Pizza Hut Inc. He moved the family to Canadian, Texas in 1979, where he took his first store manager position. Carla and Mike divorced in 1985 and the following year he moved to Shattuck, Oklahoma. Mike married Diana Lynn Gaddis in Perryton, Texas on May 7, 1988 where he was managing his third Pizza Hut. They moved back to Fairview that same month and Mike went to work at Karl's Apple Market. In 1992 he opened Sav-Mor Foods in Canton, Oklahoma. Mike worked for Waldon from 1994-2000, then for Matt Gard, as his farm hand, until 2002, when he went to work at Rother Brothers.
Mike was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December of 2015. He, alongside of his Dr. and friend, John Hensley, fought and beat the cancer. He had one chemo treatment left and was looking forward to returning to his old self but the Lord needed him to return home.
He is survived by his wife Diana Lynn Harrison of Fairview, OK, daughter Shelly Kay Harrison of Fairview, OK, son, Randy Wayne Harrison of Stillwater, OK, his mother, Carrie Mae Harrison of Fairview, two brothers: Berlin and Gina Harrison of Fairview, and Terry and Brenda Harrison of Goltry, OK, nine grandchildren; Michael Edward Kneisel, Breck Wayne Harrison of Tulsa, OK, Sheylir Kayleen Harrison of Stillwater, OK, Sayde Nicole Hicks of Geary, OK, Kreg Thomas-Jack Harrison of Stillwater, OK, Kenley Kristina-Rose Harrison of Stillwater, OK, Zoey Makaye Long of Stillwater, OK, and Mayzie Raye Harrison of Stillwater, OK, Kolbey Wayne Long as well as nieces, nephews and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his father and brother Hubert Dale Harrison.
Memorials can be made to the Stephenson Cancer Center with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds at 221 N. Main St., Fairview, OK 73737.
