Graveside Services for Mildred Mae Snow, 87, will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Homestead Cemetery. The Rev. Leonard Koehn will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11 at Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Mildred Mae Snow was born August 4, 1922, to Clinton and Edith (Kershner) Beatey in Oakwood, Oklahoma and passed away November 9, 2009 at the Fairview Regional Medical Center in Fairview, Oklahoma.

Mildred grew up in Oakwood and attended Oakwood School. On September 16, 1939, she married Russell Howard Snow in Watonga, Oklahoma. After their marriage, they lived in Southard at US Gypsum housing for a few years and then moved to a farm one mile north of Southard and lived there for 20 years. Russell worked for U S. Gypsum at Southard, Oklahoma 40 ½ years. Mildred was a homemaker, loving mother to five, and helped Russell farm. They moved to Okeene where they lived for several years. Mildred started working at the Okeene Hospital as a Nurses Aide and did so for 24 years, retiring in 1992. They moved to Fairview in 1993. Mildred and Russell volunteered at Canton Lake where they served as coordinators for the Tulsa District Corps of Engineers. She was a member of the Christian Church. Mildred was currently the Vice-President of the Board of Directors for the Fairview Senior Citizens Center and had served in that position for the last four years. She spent most of her time working at the Center. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by one son, James Snow and his wife Becky of Levelland, Texas; four daughters, Donna Wedel and her husband Bill of Ringwood, Twilla Nickel and her husband Leroy of Fairview, Wanda Wedel and her husband Bruce of Bradley, Arkansas and Linda Kirk and her husband Ron of Kaw City, Oklahoma; one sister, Darlene Thomas of Watonga; 14 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Russell; three brothers; one infant daughter and one granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to OMRF Diabetes or M.S. divisions, with Fairview Funeral Home Inc. acting as custodian of the funds.
