Graveside Services for Mitchel "Mike" Virgel Parent, 96, of Wichita, Kansas will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 24, 2012 at the Homestead Cemetery, Homestead, Oklahoma. The Reverend will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Mike was born January 18, 1916 to Henry and Margaret (Barult) Parent in Cylon, Wisconsin. After finishing the eigth grade Mike went to work. He was employed in Minnesota by the Green Giant company. He entered the Army and was under the command of General George Patton for three and a half years. Following his honorable discharge from the Army he went to Azuza, California where he worked in the dairy industry for Foothill Dairy for 35 years. Mitchel married Leona Solomon at the Christian Church in Van Nuys, California in 1948. Mitchel retired in 1975 and moved to Longdale, Oklahoma. Leona passed away March 8, 1991. He married Alice May Martin Levings on February 16, 1992. They lived in Fairview, Oklahoma until August of 1997 when they moved to Wichita, Kansas.

Mitchel is survived by his wife Alice, stepchildren: Vickie Cooley, Pamela Havener, Tamera "Tammy" Levings, Cleo Laverne Morend, 5 g Mitchel is survived by his wife Alice, stepchildren: Vickie Cooley, Pamela Havener, Tamera "Tammy" Levings, Cleo Laverne Morend, 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Mitchel was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Leona, eight brothers two sisters, and stepson Jerry Solomon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice with Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. acting as custodian.
