Funeral Services for Norma Jean Boehr, 83, will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church. The Reverend James Suderman will officiate. Burial will follow at the South Mennonite Brethren Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Viewing will be from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday and from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Jean Boehr, 83, of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, formerly of Fairview, OK, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 in Katera's Kove after years of struggling with Alzheimer's.

Jean was born on August 31, 1928 to Harry C. and Justina (Heinrichs) Neufeld in Fairview, Oklahoma. She graduated from Corn Bible Academy and worked for Boeing Corporation.

On August 13, 1950, she married Bernhard "Ben" Boehr Jr. from Henderson, Nebraska. God blessed her with two children: Douglas Lynn and Deborah Jean. They lived in Kansas from 1950 to 1964 where she was a stay at home mother. In 1964, they moved to New Jersey where she worked in Accounting as a Bookkeeper until 1984 and then retired. While in New Jersey, she joined the Millington Baptist Church where she enjoyed Christian Fellowship and taught Children's Sunday School for many years.

After she retired, Ben and her lived in a motor home for a year and visited all the United States and Canada, and toured 11 countries in Europe, Egypt, Israel, and Hawaii. She then settled down in Fairview, Oklahoma and joined the Mennonite Brethren Church.

Jean was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, doing crafts, golfing, and RVing. Her strong faith, daily Bible reading and prayer, and moral lifestyle were a testimony to others of how much she loved the Lord. Jean will be missed by all. Her daughter, Debbie, would like to thank all of the staff at the Fairview Fellowship Home, Cambridge Village, Katera's Kove, Fairview Funeral Home, friends and family members who unselfishly gave their love, prayers, letters, e-mails, phone calls, and time to take care of her parents and help her cope during this difficult journey. The Family has been deeply touched and blessed by everyone's thoughtfulness and love. God truly does provide in time of need!

Preceding her in death, besides her parents, were her two brothers, Marvin Neufeld and Frank Nickel, and her three sisters, Helen (Neufeld) Epp, Elereeca (Neufeld) Toews, and Alma (Nickel) Schroeder.

Surviving Jean are: two brothers and their spouses, Ike and Eva Neufeld of Fairview, Orville and Ida Neufeld of Colorado Springs, CO; three sisters-in-law, Sarah Regier of Augusta, KS, Rachel Hiebner of Henderson, NE, and Kay Boehr of Blair, NE; one son, Dr. Douglas Boehr and his wife, Karen, of Topeka, Kansas; a loving daughter, Deborah Jean Kozlina and her husband, Wasso III, of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania; six loving grandchildren. Crystal Jean (Boehr) Broxterman and her husband, David, of Kansas City, KS; Michelle Lea Boehr of Topeka, KS; Samuel Douglas Boehr of Portland, OR; Nathan Lynn Boehr of Topeka, KS; Sabra Jean and Wasso Kozlina IV of Aliquippa, PA; five great grandchildren, Nathanael Boehr, Jesse and Adriana Bose, Jonathan and Ethan Broxterman; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
