Funeral Services for Oleane T. Frazier, 83 of Fairview, will be 4:00 pm, Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Fairview Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Leonard Vogt will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ames Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Oleane T. Frazier was born April 17, 1926 in Stringtown, Oklahoma to Isaac M. and Elsie (Hicks) Teer and passed away October 27, 2009 at the Fairview Fellowship Home in Fairview, Oklahoma.
Viewing will be Friday, October 30, 2009 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm at Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Oleane was born the seventh of eight children. She grew up in Taloga, Oklahoma and attended school there. After finishing school, she worked in several restaurants in Canton. On October 30, 1952, she married Vernie Frazier in Taloga. They lived in Canton for over forty years. Oleane continued to work in Canton and was a wife to Vernie and mother to her son Arthur Laverne "Butch" Sutton. Butch was killed in 1970 serving with the United States Army during Vietnam. In the 1980's and 90's she devoted her time and effort to caring for her mother after she became bedridden. Oleane continued to care for her mother until she passed away in the early 90's at the age of 96. Oleane and Vernie loved traveling around the country and she enjoyed taking pictures on all their trips. Oleane was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church of Canton. Due to her failing health, Oleane moved into the Fairview Fellowship Home where she remained until she passed away. A short time later, in 2007, Vernie moved to Fairview.
She is survived by her husband Vernie Frazier of Fairview; one brother, Nelson M. Leer and wife Emma Gene of Duncan; one sister, Mary "Mollie" Shoopman of Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews.
Oleane was preceded in death by her parents, one son Lavern "Butch" Sutton, four brothers Lewis Teer, Arthur "Shorty Teer, Elmer Teer and Ernest Teer; one sister Thelma D. (Teer) Wells; and two nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Fairview Fellowship Home with Fairview Funeral Home Inc. acting as custodian.
