Funeral services for Patricia Vera Grabow Laubach Bowers, 71, of Fairview will be at 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 24, 2013, at the Longdale Gym, Longdale, Oklahoma, under the direction of the Fairview Funeral Home.

Patricia Vera Grabow Laubach Bowers was born September 8, 1941, west of Homestead, Oklahoma, to Henry Walter and Rachel Ann Grabow. After a battle with cancer, she departed this life at the Fairveiw Regional Hospital on February 18, 2013.

Patricia was raised on the Grabow Ranch and attended the Longdale School until her sophomore year when the family moved south of Canton, Oklahoma. Pat finished high school at Canton. She graduated with the Class of 1959. She was an excellent basketball player helping her teams with winning many trophies.

After graduation on May 9, 1959, she married Marvin Thomas Laubach at the Zion Baptist Church in Okeene, Oklahoma. They made their home in Okeene, where Tom delivered propane for a local oil company. Soon after they were married, Patricia became pregnant with their first child. On January 15, 1960, about two months early, she gave birth to twins. The couple was heartbroken to discover that one of the twins was born with birth defects which lead to death at birth. Pat and Tom left the hospital with a healthy baby girl named Debra Sue. A few months later, the couple was surprised with more exciting news. They were having another baby, and on December 5, 1960, Dianna Lynn was born.

When the girls were just toddlers, Tom accepted a job for a company called Petrolane and moved the family to Milford, Illinois. They resided there for eight years before Tom was transferred to Westminster, California, to assist his company with the Clean Air Act. It was there that Pat really thrived in the community. She helped at the school serving meals and upholstered furniture for friends. She enjoyed being a Brownie and Girls Scout leader in the girls' local troops. She delighted in taking the troops on camping trips, marching in parades, running carnival booths, and many other activities. She was always happy to serve others.

Upon the death of Pat's father, the family moved back to Oklahoma to help her mother and brother farm the homestead south of Canton. After five years of farming, Pat and Tom had an idea for a company that they eventually made into a reality. They called the company Drill Disc Supply. Numerous drill disc for various wheat drills were built at their company. Pat's responsibilities included sales, bookkeeping, shipments, assembly, and occasionally she even worked the forklift and drill press.

While living in Canton, she faithfully attended the Eagle City Christian Church south of Canton. She even helped in building the church and parsonage. She was very active in organizing church activities and regularly taught Bible classes.

Regardless of how busy she was with the business and church, she never missed an opportunity to go fishing with her grandkids or attend their sporting events. Anyone who knew Pat could easily attest to the active role she took in her grandkids' lives. Whether it was a small school assembly or a major sports event, she was there to support them rain or shine.

In January of 1997, Tom, her husband, of 38 years passed away. After selling the drill disc business, Pat took an extended vacation to Page, Arizona, where she spent time with Debra and her family. She then moved to Seiling, Oklahoma. She remained in Seiling for five years. It was during that time that she met her second husband, Dwight Bowers. They went on their first date to Willie's Cafe in Seiling. After a short courtship, Pat and Dwight were married on February 8, 2003, uniting two beautiful families. The couple made their home at Dwight's ranch for the last 10 years of her life. They loved working cattle, mending fences, and spending time together. They even remodeled and added on to the house.

Pat is survived by her husband, Dwight Bowers of Fairview; daughters, Debra and Jerry Roundtree of Page, Arizona, Dianna and Monte Chain of Seiling, Oklahoma, and Mallory and Eddie Winn of Perkins, Oklahoma; one son, Charles and Julie Bowers of Claremore; seven grandsons, Jake and Tonya Roundtree of Page, Arizona, Joe and Gail Roundtree of Flagstaff, Arizona, Jense Roundtree of Page, Arizona, Kelly and Amber Chain of Seiling, Oklahoma, Brooks Winn of Perkins, Oklahoma, Dillon and Tyler Bowers of Claremore, Oklahoma; five granddaughters, Kaylee and Hannah Roundtree of Page, Arizona, Kimberly Chain and husband Paul Mahan of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Karly and Sydney Winn of Perkins, Oklahoma; four great-grandchildren, Kemper and Kaci Roundtree, Blake and Baylee Chain; three sisters, Cleta Becker of Fairview, Oklahoma, Berniece and Claude Olson of Claremore, Oklahoma, Sharie and Bobby Smith of Fairview, Oklahoma; one brother, Walt and Holly Grabow of Omega, Oklahoma; and many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Thomas (Tom) Laubach; one child, baby Laubach; parents, Henry and Rachel Grabow; and two sisters, Henrietta Shaw, and Kathern Unwin.
