Obituary

Graveside services for Peggy Sue Hunt, 82, of Fairview will be Saturday, 1 August 2020 at 10:30 am in the Bethel Cemetery.  Viewing will be on Wednesday July 29 th from 9:30 am to 5 pm, Thursday July 30th from 9:30 am to 5 pm and Friday July 31th from 9:30 am to 5 pm.  There will be no viewing at the cemetery.  Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Peggy Sue Hunt was born March 26 th , 1938 in Dane, Oklahoma west of Fairview to Leon Lyle and Faye Gladys, (Gooch) Hunt and passed peacefully from this life to the next on Friday July 24 th at the Fairview Fellowship Home, Fairview, Oklahoma.

Peggy grew up on the family farm and attended school in Longdale, Oklahoma.  After graduating High School she help her mom and dad on the family farm.  In December 1956 she married Francis "Sonny" Reese.  She quickly fell into her role as a wife, mother after they were blessed with 2 girls, Dana and Dawn.  As a farm wife there is always many things besides house work that had to be accomplished and she still found time to work out of the home.   Peggy worked as a cook at the Southard Restaurant.  She also worked as a Dietary Cook at the Schallmo senior living center in Okeene, Oklahoma for many years.  She and her girls and later her grandchildren sold Fireworks in Longdale and the surrounding area for 50 years.  After 34 years her and Sonny were divorced.  She remained on the farm messing with her cattle and making flower arrangements.  She was a hard working lady with many friends and will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Peggy is survived by her daughters Dawn Grove of Greenfield and Dana Syzemore of Longdale, three sisters Ellen Osborne, Janet Bowman, and Janice Campbell, one brother Greg Hunt, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren as well and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband Francis "Sonny" Reese, two brothers, Bobby and Billy Hunt and two sisters, Glenda Moser and Verna "Jeannie" Geiger and Son-in-law Dale Grove and great grandson Baby Reese and grandson-in-law Micah Robison.
