Funeral Services for Raymond Ray Martin, 85, of Fairview, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010, at the Cedar Springs Church of the Nazarene, 7 miles west of Fairview on Highway 60. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Oklahoma. The Reverend Herb Berkley will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday, March 11 and 12, 2010 at the Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Raymond Ray Martin was born on August 21, 1924 to R.A. and Mary Marie (Fischer) Martin at Okeene, Oklahoma and passed away, Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the Fairview Fellowship Home, Fairview, Oklahoma.

Raymond grew up on a farm in the Longdale area and went to school until the 8th grade. During the depression he and his brother Ed lived together working where they could find work. On May 23, 1945 Raymond and Esta Elnora Back married in Taloga, Oklahoma. They lived near Cedar Springs until they bought their first 80 acres in 1951 where they made their home. Raymond worked for Ewbank Drilling for several years and also helped build the Canton Dam. But most of his life he was a farmer and rancher. In 2006 due to his failing health he moved to the Fairview Fellowship Home where he remained until his death.

Raymond enjoyed working and ranching and loved all kinds of animals from horses to cattle and pigs. He loved them all. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather that will truly be missed.

Raymond is survived by his wife Esta, of the home; children, Loretta Parkins and husband Charles of Fairview, Lela Reddekopp and husband Jeff of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one brother Milo Martin and wife Judy of St. Joseph, Missouri, two sisters, Clara Nickel and husband Mervin of Enid and Pat Bell and husband Bill of Wichita, Kansas, three grandchildren, Christy and husband Tanner Rippe, Brenda and husband Greg McKinney, Kara and husband John Eitzen, and five great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ed and three sisters, Ruby, Rachel and Elsie.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cedar Springs Church of the Nazarene with Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. serving as custodian of the funds.
