Funeral Services for Robert Roy Judd, age 88, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the Cheyenne Valley Methodist Church. The Reverend Marvin Stuckey will officiate. Burial will follow at the Lone Star Cemetery in Cheyenne Valley. Local arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Robert Roy Judd was born May 30, 1921 in Cleo Springs, Oklahoma to Arthur and Sadie Ann (Bennett) Judd and passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010 at his home in Waynoka, Oklahoma.
Roy attended Cheyenne Valley School. January of 1942, Roy joined the U.S. Army and served in Europe during World War II when he received a purple heart. Roy was honorably discharged in 1946. After returning home he married Lula Bell Inman on March 2, 1947. They made their home on a farm near Bouse Junction. For the next 18 years they lived all around Cheyenne Valley area. During this time he farmed and ranched, but mostly ran a dozer for Woodward County. In 1984 Roy and Lula moved to Waynoka, retiring in 1985 from Woodward County. Although retired he continued running a dozer. Roy loved to fish and enjoyed hunting over the holidays.
He is survived by his wife, Lula Bell Judd of the home; two sons, Sidney Judd and Jo of Waynoka and Ron Judd and wife Verna of Helena, OK; one daughter, Theona and husband Greg Sanchez of Snowflake, AZ; one sister, Helen and husband RJ Inman of Fairview, OK; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ray Judd.
Memorials may be made to the Disabled Vets with Fairview Funeral Home acting as custodian.
