Funeral Services for Roy D Moneypenny, 83, of Fairview, will be Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Fairview First Baptist Church. Reverend Derek Cox will officiate. Burial will follow in the Little Cemetery, in Little, Oklahoma at 4 pm. Arrangements by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Roy was born on March 6, 1939 in Frederick, Oklahoma to Harvey Carl and Beulah Pearl (Adams) Moneypenny and passed away peacefully at his home in Fairview, Oklahoma with his family by his side. Roy grew up and graduated from high school. Roy met Gearal D. Pierce (Gerry) and on September 27, 1956 in Seminole, Oklahoma they were married. They were blessed with 2 daughters, Debbie and Nita, and one son, Dewayne. In 1956 he joined the Army and was stationed in Chicago, Illinois. Roy was a Radar Instructor trained the top radar teams. He was honorably discharged in 1960. Roy and Gearal moved to Fairview, Oklahoma in 1972. They joined the First Baptist Church where he was a Decon. He had been ordained in 1969. Roy was very devoted to his Lord and Savior and to the church. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief where he was instrumental assisting many people during their personal disaster. He cooked for many, but most importantly lead people to the Lord.
After moving to Fairview Roy worked various positions in the oil and gas industry. He was also a welder. He worked many years as a Maintenance Supervisor Delhi and in his later years was a private consultant until his health forced him to retire. He was loved by all who knew him and will be truly missed.
Roy is survived by his wife Gearal, one son Dewayne Moneypenny, two daughters, Debbie and Nita Moneypenny, one sister, Margaret Fincher, two granddaughters, Heather and husband Chandler Chill, Kristin and husband Kaleb Hursh, two grandsons, Zachary and wife Nicole Moneypenny, and Kaleb and wife Amanda Moneypenny, and six great grandchildren, Madisyn, Makayla, Makynlee, Evangeline, Dylan, Abigail.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to First Baptist Church Nursery Fund.
