Roy Lee Woodbury's Obituary
Celebration of Life service for Roy Lee Woodbury, 63, of Fairview, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Cedar Springs Church of the Nazarene. Pastors Levi Bratten and Charles Newton will officiate. Cremation arrangements are under the guidance of Fairview Funeral Home Inc.
Roy went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 28, 2016 at his home. Roy was born March 29, 1953 on a farm in Major County to Lee Roy and Ethel (Back) Woodbury. The family moved around Major County until Roy was five years old, when they moved to the Cedar Springs area.
Roy attended school at Fairview, graduating with the Class of 1972. He attended NWOSU in Alva, OK where he graduated with an Ag Business degree in 1977. He married Terri Nokes on December 18, 1976 in Cherokee, OK. The couple lived in Alva, OK until August of 1977 when they moved to Cherokee, OK to farm and run a custom harvesting operation. In 1984 they returned to Fairview and Roy went to work for Waldon MFG for the next eight years. In 1992 Roy went back into custom harvesting and trucking. He then returned to manufacturing in 1996 but this time for Mabar, which then became Pendpac. Pendpac closed their doors in 2013 leaving Roy to go to work for Major County District 3 in June of that year. Roy loved his job with the county, where his coworkers became like family.
Roy was a believer and loved his church family. He grew up in the Orion Baptist Church and later became an active member of the Cedar Springs Nazarene Church. He was a mentor and teacher to many.
Preceding him in death is his father, Lee Roy Woodbury, his mother, Ethel Woodbury, sister, Lynda Karber, mother-in-law Glennis Nokes and brother-in-law Mark Nokes.
Roy is survived by his wife Terri of the home, brother-in-law Gary Karber, brother-in law Mike Hill and sister-in-law Sherri Hill, lots of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
