Funeral Services for Ruby Marie (Outhier) Hanson, 89, of Bixby formerly Homestead, will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 30, 2010 at the Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church. The Reverend Brad Penner will officiate. Burial will follow in the Homestead Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010 and 9:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. before the service at the Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Ruby Marie Hanson was born January 15, 1921 in Butler, Oklahoma to Frank Clarence Outhier and Nellie Lucille Vaughn and passed away April 26, 2010 at the South Town Nursing Home in Bixby, Oklahoma.

Ruby was raised in the Homestead area and attended Homestead School. She married Floyd Henry Hanson in 1942 and they made their home on the hill near Southard until 1950's when they completed their home in Homestead. Ruby and Floyd farmed and ranched all their life. She stayed busy raising her three sons and one daughter and enjoyed going to their school activities and attending horse racing and other horse related events. She also loved to be outside taking care of her cattle. For many years she helped her friends and neighbors in the community and took care of mowing the Homestead Cemetery for several years.

Ruby is survived by one son, Harold Hanson of Broken Arrow, Okla. and one daughter Sherry Hanson of Homestead, Okla.; six grandchildren, Warren Hanson, Duane Hanson, Veronica Hanson, Roxann Hanson and Angela Hanson; and five great grandchildren.
