Obituary

Funeral Services for Rufus "Bill" Arthur . Parker, 93, will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 9, 2009 in the Cedar Springs Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Herb Berkley will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Viewing will be Thursday 8 January from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., the family will be present from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Friday at the church before the service.
Rufus "Bill" Arthur Parker was born September 20, 1915 on the farm west of Fairview to Ernest and Christiana (Ewbank) Parker and died January 5, 2009 at the Fairview Fellowship Home in Fairview, Oklahoma.

He married Winnie Mae Bryant on May 29, 1934. To this union was born Barbara Jean Hutchison Bensch, Patricia Mae Taylor and Janis Louise Frech. They raised there girls in the Cheyenne Valley area then in the 1960's moved west of Fairview into a new home that was the first total electric home in the area. Rufus and Winnie enjoyed going on trips with the Major County Cattlemen's Association and other bus tours including Alaska, Hawaii and various others. They were married for 62 years before Winnie passed away in 1998. Rufus was a hard worker and an avid hunter as well as a fisherman. He operated a caterpillar service and hired many guys to work for him. He helped build highways 60 and 412. Rufus was a farmer and rancher and loved his work and every grandson lived and worked for him at one time in their lives. Rufus loved life and was quite a character up till his death.

Surviving him are daughter Janis & Dennis Frech, eight grandchildren, Brad & Andy Hutchison, Beth Barefoot, Kim and Ron Mansour, Grant Taylor, David & Ronda Frech, Dale & Tammy Frech, Don & Katryna Frech, Laneta & Gary Whitley; 31 great grandchildren, Newley & Mandy Hutchison, Kasse & Johnny Duffy, Lenne & Matt Mahon, Morey & Cara Hutchison, Jennifer & Dustin Redinger, Ben & Amber Becker, and Parker Barefoot. Also Will, Tess and Chelsea Mansour, and Tori Hutchison, John & Stephanie Chrisman, Jeremiah & Brandi Chrisman, Damen, Mason, Kassandra, Tanner and Tiffany Cox, Darinda, Darin, Drew & McKenzee Frech, Brittany Frech, Chassidee Koehn, Kasya, Kendra, Kaytlynn, Braydon and Camdon Frech. Jeremy, Jessica and Nicole Unruh; 21 great great grandchildren are Brock and Newt Hutchison, Trystin & Olivia Duffy, Malachi and Esther Mahan and Kade & Mattie Hutchison, Karsyn & Kaiden Redinger, Logan & Liam Becker, Grayson Pittman and Lyric Gufpafson, Dakota & Lauren Chrisman. Jacob, Logan and Izzabo Cox, Keegen Frech and Matthew Mahan; One sister Neva & Gerald Wedel of Wellington, Kansas along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding him in death was his parents, wife Winnie, 2 daughters, Barbara Jean Hutchison Bensch, Patricia Mae Taylor, 4 grandchildren, Danny Hutchison, Shannon Koehn, Patty Taylor and Gayla Cox, 2 great grandchildren and 2 great greatgrandchildren, 2 sisters and 1 brother.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Cedar Springs Church of the Nazarene Building Fund and Fairview Hope Outreach.
