Funeral Services for Ruth Marica (Lynch) Martin, 85, will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 3, 2009 at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite in Fairview, Oklahoma. The Reverend Leonard Koehn and Randy Levings will officiate. Burial will be Tuesday, August 4, 2009 in the White County Memorial Gardens, Searcy, Arkansas. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the funeral home and viewing at the church the day of the service.

Ruth was born October 13, 1923 in Dewey, Oklahoma to Fred and Beretha Lefors Lynch and passed away July 30, 2009 at the Integres Bass Baptist Health Center, Enid Oklahoma.

Ruth grew up in Dewey, Oklahoma and attended Public School until her senior year when she went to Bible School in Gravette, Arkansas and graduated in 1942. After completion of Bible School Ruth went to Business College in Bartlesville. She then went to John Brown University and spent a summer at Tahlequah Oklahoma College. In 1969 Ruth went back to Gravette Bible School and taught Homemaking, prepared three meals a day for hungry students and teachers, and was a matron for 28 girls in the dorm.

October 10th, 1969 in Gravette, Arkansas, Ruth was united in marriage to Leon Samuel Martin of Lamar, Colorado. Leon worked at Noel, Missouri at a furniture factory. Leon and Ruth moved to Siloam Springs to work at a chicken farm that raised broilers for Simmons Chicken Plant. In 1974 they sold and moved to Dewey, Oklahoma. Ruth's mother passed away in May of 1975 after which they moved back to Gravette.

Ruth started working for Wal-Mart Distributions Center in Searcy, Arkansas. She retired in 1989. They then traveled to see the country. Ruth and Leon decided to return to Enid, Oklahoma and operate an apartment complex for a Real Estate Company. After five years they sold the apartment complex and moved to Wakita, Oklahoma a small, quite little town.

In December 2007, Ruth's health began to fail. December 26th of the same year Ruth had surgery and found out that she had colon cancer and it had spread too far to be removed. In January 2008, she moved to the Enid Care Center and was there until June 2008 when she moved to the Highland Park Manor where she remained until her death.

Ruth was a member of the Church of God "Holiness" Church in Dewey, Oklahoma and was saved during a revival. Over the years as they moved around she attended many different churches, continuing her faith in God.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Leon Samuel Martin of Enid, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law Lela Lynch of Mesa, Arizona and Marietta (Lynch) Davis of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; 5 nieces and 3 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Ruth Martin memorial fund.
