Sandy was born November 4, 1925 in Alto, Texas to Elbert and Verna Mae (Goff) Watters. She traveled with her family through the southwest before the family settled in Carmi, Illinois. It was there in 1944, that she met the love of her life, Lester Thomas "L. T." McDaniel. They were married at the courthouse in Greenville, Mississippi on October 7, 1944, just before he was shipped out to Japan on a mine sweeper while serving in the US Navy. To this union, they added three beautiful children whom they loved dearly; Lyndia, Ruth Anne and Tom.

One of her greatest achievements was being the nursery coordinator for 50 years. She loved teaching the children about the Lord and watching them grow into adults and then bringing their own children to church. This was really her heartfelt mission in serving her Lord and the church. Sandy retired from Fairview First Baptist Church March 1, 1987.

She loved her family and was a very busy, on the go, person. She was a good cook, seamstress and housewife. Sandy enjoyed her career in Avon for 55 years. It enabled her to meet lots of people. She won numerous awards but the trip she won to Hawaii was her most treasured. It was a beautiful memory she enjoyed the rest of her life. Sandy loved to play golf with L.T. in the evenings and having supper at the Fairview Golf and Country Club. She enjoyed her golf friendships with Ladies Golf Associations at Fairview Golf and Country Club and Pheasant Run Golf Club. She felt blessed play with her grandson's at the annual L.T. McDaniel Memorial Tournament. Of course her grandson's didn't think too highly of her beating them at putting!

Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, L.T., her parents, two brothers Carl and Short, her sister in law and best friend-Ruth Watters and son in law, Gail Moore.

She is survived by her children: Lyndia Blackburn of McKinney, TX, Ruth Anne Moore of Ardmore, OK and Tom McDaniel and wife Sandy of Tulsa, OK, grandchildren: Rod Moore of Oklahoma City, OK, Ronda Shrader of McKinney, TX, Ryan Moore of Frisco, TX, Jerry T. Blackburn of Dallas, TX, Shawn McDaniel of Ithaca, NY, Rob Marti of Edmond, OK, Amanda Cain and T.J. Marti both of Tulsa, OK , eleven great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and her best friend Betty Sawyer.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview First Baptist Church or the Fairview Ministerial Alliance with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds.
