Sheri Yvonne
Bensch
Mar 29, 1956 — Jun 8, 2018
Chester
Memorial services for Sheri Bensch, 62, of Fairview, will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the Orion Baptist Church, West of Fairview. Pastor Micky Flynn will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home.
Sheri Yvonne Bensch was born March 29, 1956, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Teddy "Ted" Fenton and Thedora "Alzada" (Gould) Sharp and passed from this life June 8, 2018 after a long battle with breast cancer.
Sheri was raised in the Orion, Seiling and Fairview area and graduated from Seiling High School with the Class of 1974. Sheri married Bruce Bensch on May 26, 1973 and to this union was added a son, Jonothan "Jon" Lee Bensch.
Sheri spent 42 years behind a parts counter. Men generally wouldn't trust a woman selling tractor, combine, baler and car parts but Sheri wasn't like most women. She knew her stuff when it came to parts and most men around here trusted her. Through the years she worked for Seiling Equipment, Howard Way Chevrolet, Craighead Implement, Jensen's, Seiling Auto Supply, Schwind Auto, Fortune's Automotive and Waldon's. Sheri also enjoyed having a good time with friends and family. Horses were a big part of her downtime. Working cattle horseback, trail riding, breaking and training her own colts were just a few of her joys. Sheri was a member of the Seiling Roundup Club and the Seiling Church of Christ. She enjoyed her hummingbirds, raising guineas, and working in her yard, garden and flower beds.
Surviving her are her son Jon and wife Alycia and grandson Jackson Bensch of Yukon, Oklahoma, one brother Rick and Diana Sharp of Dandridge, Tennessee, two nephews, Teddy Sharp and Jimmy Sharp (Ella), one niece, Sarah Sharp and great nephew, Rocko Sharp, numerous family and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents and grandparents.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Orion Cemetery Assoc. with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds.
