Sheryl Jo McKee (Sherry), 76, was born on January 12, 1946, to Herb and Doris Ewing, in Cherokee, Oklahoma and passed from this life on August 17, 2022 at her home in Fairview.  Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fairview First United Methodist Church, Pastor David Gordon will officiate.  Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Sherry grew up in a loving, spiritual family with 3 brothers, Terry, Doug & Jack, and one sister, Sandra.  They were a very musical family and would later perform at churches and other community events singing the gospel.

She spent her high school years at Fairview where her father was a teacher and girls basketball coach and she played ball.  It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Allen.  They were married on July 13, 1962.  Together they made their home farming and ranching while raising a family on the farm west of Fairview.  As the farming expanded into more pieces of farmland their family also grew to include Terri, Tammy, and Trent.  They had happy times working together and all were taught to drive the tractors, build fence, take care of the cattle, and anything else that needed to be done on the farm.  Harvest time was one of the favorite family times.  There may have been just a little bit of grumbling when the kids were woken up early on Saturday mornings to go feed or build fence but these times were often brightened with a picnic or a dip in the horse tank.  In their early farming days Allen and Sherry also custom harvested going as far north as Kansas and Nebraska.

A few other jobs that Sherry had, included plucking chickens at Hallren's Produce in 1963 and later she worked at the Fairview Sale Barn on Thursday's.  These always made for interesting stories.

Sherry and Allen were very active with the Fairview Country Club and both loved to golf.  She was the board president for several years and also enjoyed being a member of the women's golf association.  They both put in many hours of work to make it a great place for the community.

Later came grandchildren and great grandchildren which brought her great joy!  She would hold a "Grandma's Camp" every summer for the grandkids and have all kinds of activities planned for them.  They all loved it and looked forward to going every year.  She was their #1 fan and followed them in all of their activities.

Sherry was everyone's Mom, Grandma, and MiMi, she never met a stranger and would help anyone that needed a helping hand.  She loved music, playing the piano and singing soprano, golfing, playing with the kids (making sure that they had their daily dose of sugar), family projects including building a log cabin from their own cedar trees, and traveling in their motorhome with a great group of friends.  She was a great one and will be terribly missed.

Sherry is survived by her husband Allen, Children Terri (McKee) Boyer and husband Don, Tammy (McKee) Price and husband Dennis, all of Fairview.  Six grandchildren, Randi (Boyer) Lackey and husband Oliver, Kendra (Boyer) Harmon and husband Kyle, Kaci (Price) Edwards and husband Garet, Dillon Price and wife Chesnei, McKenzee (McKee) Frech and husband Drew, Brock McKee and wife Molli.  12 great grandchildren, one brother, Terry Ewing, one sister, Sandra Luginbill, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Doris, her son Trent McKee, and brothers Doug Ewing and Jack Ewing.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Methodist Church with the Fairview Funeral Home acting as custodians of the funds.
