Funeral services for Vada "Blondie" Louise Major, 90, of Fairview, will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 26, 2022, at the 1 ^st United Methodist Church, Fairview, Oklahoma followed by burial in the Fairview Cemetery.  Arrangements by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Vada Louise "Blondie" Major was born on August 17, 1932 to Dallas and Clara (Warner) Womack and left this earthly world to her heavenly realm November 22, 2022.

Nicknamed Blondie at a young age by a school friend, that name stayed with her throughout her life.  She spent her youth as the middle child with three brothers and a sister.  She attended Fairview Schools with best friend Peggy whose brother became the love of her life, Billy Dean Major.  They married September 12, 1948 and had one ornery son who made life interesting for his three sisters.

Blondie enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom working part time at the sale barn and clerking auctions.  Later she went to work as a deputy court clerk for Pauline Sutton and was then elected as County Court Clerk and served for many years in that office.  She spent many years and into retirement following family sport activities as well as Thunder Basketball and OU softball.

As a very active member of the Major County community, she gave her time serving on the Major County Historical Society board, Fairview Alumni Association, Hospital Foundation, OK Blood Institute, United Methodist Women officer and communion steward.  But extra special to her heart was the time she spent creating family-type relationships with her "adopted" family members at the Cleo Senior Center.

Blondie lived an active, happy life and touched the lives of all she met.  She had a great love of God, country, and family.  She was bright, smart, funny, and stubborn to the end.

Left in love; son Mike and wife Gail, daughters Pat Davis, Sherry McDonald and husband Bob, Kathy Wiens and husband Reg, nine grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, sister-in-law Lois Wiggins, numerous nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Greeting her in heaven are; husband Bill, parents Dallas and Clara Womack and in-laws Morris and Elsie Major, siblings Colonel Willis Womack, Commander Ray Womack, Colonel Vernon Womack, and Von Williams, sisters-in-law Peggy Fettke, and Betty Duhamel, sons-in-law Mike Mackey and Dick Patterson.

Memorial donations may be made to the Major County Historical Society or Cleo Senior Citizen Center with Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. serving as custodian of the funds.
