Vickie Otwell's Obituary
A Memorial Service for Vickie L. Otwell will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at the Church of the Nazarene in Fairview, Oklahoma. The Reverend Charles McKinney will officiate. Local arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
She was born Nov. 2, 1954, in Ft. Worth Texas to Waldo "Mac" McDowell and Gracie (Manes) McDowell and passed away, Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009 in Enid Oklahoma.
Vickie grew up in the Fort Worth area and enjoyed playing softball and fishing with her father. She married Terry M. Otwell on July 31, 1985 raising a combined family of six children during their 23 years of marriage.
Vickie had worked for Home Health Care providing assistance for the elderly throughout Major County. She had also worked for Fairview Fellowship Home as both a CNA and a CMA before becoming an executive assistant to her husband Terry in a family owned business, TKO Construction. Vickie was a longtime member of Fairview Ambucs.
Vickie enjoyed cooking, bowling, fishing, riding four-wheelers, playing video games and gardening with her nine grandsons and one granddaughter as well as spending quality time with her beloved boxer Boscoe. She will be missed by all who have known and loved her. She brought joy and happiness to many. She was always an understanding and supporting wife and mother.
Vickie is survived by her husband Terry of Fairview; two sons, James Freelove and wife Jamie of Enid and Christopher "CJ" Freelove and wife Ashley of Fairview; four daughters, Carlena Otwell and husband Larry of Enid, Brandy Frye and husband Blaine of Enid, Kyndra Heath of Fairview, Teagan Hernandez and husband Chris of Fairview; her mother Gracie Harkrader; step-mother Billie McDowell; two sisters Hallie Jo and Barbara; one brother Terry, all of Oregon; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Mac McDowell of Fairview; her brother Rick Manes of Oregon; and two grandsons, Jadrien Cox and Jayse Freelove both of Enid.
Memorial donations may be made to the Fairview First Church of the Nazarene with Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. serving as custodian of the funds.
