Funeral Service for Wacey Lane Murrow will be at the Christian Church in Freedom, Oklahoma. at 10:30 am, on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, with burial following service. The Reverend Mark Kinkel will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Wacey Lane Murrow was born on August 8, 1997 to Travis and Christina (Stidham) Murrow. Wacey went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 3, 2026 with his wife, mom, siblings, uncles, aunts and friends at his side. He was greeted with open arms by his Dad, Grandma Gina, Grandpa Whitey, Nanny, Papa Dink, Mimi, and a host of loved ones and friends.
Wacey was born in Shattuck, Oklahoma, where he certainly made his presence known from the very start. He attended Freedom School from pre-K through first grade. He competed in soccer and sheep and calf riding. Wacey was the National mutton busting champ in the NJBRA at the ripe age of six. He had a very competitive streak and also loved entertaining others. Throughout junior high and high school, Wacey competed in every sport offered. He played football in late elementary, then after moving to Arnett, he played baseball, basketball and even ran track one season (because Coach Forbes made him) and was fortunate enough to be on several state championship teams. He continued competing in bull riding throughout his high school years.
Wacey met the love of his life, Sierra Dawn Swanson the summer of 2018. From their union came three absolutely beautiful children, Reece Quigley Murrow, born also on his father and grandfather‘s birthday, August 8, 2019; Delaney Kay Murrow, born April 9, 2022 and Ryle Brooks Murrow, born August 19, 2024. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his friends. He enjoyed fishing with the family, even though Sierra always caught more. He loved fighting bulls with Kody and the boys. He took pride in a job well done. He truly loved all aspects of the cattle industry, from managing the yard, doctoring cattle, setting rations and processing. He certainly had a knack and knowledge for the field. He had gotten his CDL and was working for the Chain Ranch.
Wacey was such a force. He worked hard. He played hard. He loved making others laugh. He lived in the moment and he had a heart of gold. Wacey loved his family fiercely, and if you were his friend, you were definitely in the family.
He is survived by his wife, Sierra and three children, Reece Quigley, Delaney Kay and Ryle Brooks of Fairview, Oklahoma; mother, Christy Murrow and spouse Rusty of Carmen, Oklahoma; brother Garrett German of Alva, Oklahoma; brother Stetson Howland of Edmond, Oklahoma; sister, Bandi Murrow and fiancé Chauk of Sterling, Oklahoma; step siblings Hunter and Cheyenne, Taylor and Lindy Munsell; uncles Trent Murrow and family, Shad Williams and cousins Kailey and Koby; aunt Misty Sharp and cousins Tyler and Teagan. 11 nieces and nephews; Bowee, Tyra, Maesyn, Boone, Scottlynn, Bella, Tuf, Shepherd, Booker, Krete, Knox, and Briggs, and a multitude of extended family loved ones and friends.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Travis Murrow; paternal grandparents, Whitey and Regina Murrow; maternal grandparents Dink and Sheila Stidham; great grandmother, Ollie Stidham and the rest of his great grandparents that he was blessed with.
