Obituary

Celebration of Life service for Wesley Lee Peterson, 79, of Fairview is set for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the Central Christian Church in Fairview. Pastor Jack Kelly will officiate.  Cremation arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Wesley Peterson was born June 25, 1946 in Chester, OK. to Laurn Wesley and Iola Eldora (Noble) Peterson and went to be with his Heavenly Father July 25, 2025.

Wes grew up in Cherokee and attended school there.  Wes then moved to Fairview where he met Rita Kay Kehn at the Mug and Jug in town.  Wes and Rita were married on January 8, 1971 in the Isabella Nazarene Church.  The couple made their home in Fairview and soon were blessed with their first son Greg.  Five years later they were blessed with their second son, Troy.  Wes was no stranger to hard work.  He worked for Reams Motor Company for 15 years.  He then went to work for Nichols Casing for five years before going to work for Ewald's where he worked for 26 years until retirement.  Managing the car wash was his passion.  He was always there to make sure it was clean and functioning properly, always with a smile and a kind word.

Wes was a loving kind hearted man who took care of his family.  Wes never had a negative word to say about anything or anyone.  He enjoyed an old western, crossword puzzles, and rarely missed an OKC Thunder game on TV.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend. Wes was a man of few words but rather lived his life by example to all who knew him.  While he will be missed by his family and friends, they will take comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his beloved wife.

Wes was preceded in death by his parents, brother, his wife Rita, one grandson, Marcus Peterson.

Left to cherish his memory are; his sons; Greg and Danita Peterson of Fairview, and their daughter, Alisha Peterson of Gothenburg, NE., and Troy and Denise Peterson and their children, Trexler, Declan, Denae, and Thorin all of Enid, two brothers, Raymond Peterson of Billings, Oklahoma, Merle Peterson of Chouteau, Oklahoma, three sisters, Edna Murphy of Tucson, AZ., Pat Haldaman and husband Dale of Fairview, and Marilyn Schmidt and husband Kenneth of Calumet, OK., along with many friends and extended family.

Memorial contributions can be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Parkinson's Division, with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds.
