Funeral Services for Wilber Henry Wilson, 97, will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 1, 2008 at the Fairview Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Terry Douglas will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Wilber Henry Wilson was born September 20, 1910 in Alto Pass, Illinois and passed away July 28, 2008 at the Corn Heritage Village in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
Viewing will from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and prior to the service at Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Wilber was born in Illinois and moved with his family to Longdale, Oklahoma in 1914 or 1915. He attended a small country school in Major County. Wilber married Ruby Rose Martin on April 7, 1941 in Fairview, Oklahoma. In 1946, they moved to Cheyenne Valley and in 1966 moved to Fairview. Wilber farmed all of his life with help from his loving wife, Ruby Rose, and his sons. In 1983, he lost his wife of 42 years to cancer.
In 1997 he married Lucille Parker Warner at the young age of 86. They made their home in Fairview until their health declined and they moved to the Fairview Fellowship Home. They remained together until failing health caused Wilber to be moved to Weatherford where he remained until his death. Wilber was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Fairview.
He is survived by wife Lucille Wilson of Fairview, two sons, Dean and Jeanne Wilson of Weatherford, Clifton and Freda Wilson of Fairview; one step-daughter Paula and Gilbert Santillan of Enid; two brothers, Walt Wilson and Ellsworth Wilson, both of Harrison, Arkansas; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ruby Rose; two brothers, James and Carl; two sisters Mary and Mildred and one infant brother.
Memorials may be made to the Fairview First Nazarene Church, OMRF: Cancer or Alzheimer's with Fairview Funeral Home Inc. acting as custodian.
