W illiam Stephen Hicks, 72, of Fairview, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 peacefully at his home in Fairview with his family by his side.  As per his request he was cremated and services will be at a later date.  Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Steve was born in Spearman, Texas on February 6th, 1952 to Sam Houston and Elizabeth Ann (Miller) Hicks.  He grew up in the Spearman, Texas area.  Steve met the love of his life, Marie King and they were married on September 14, 1974 in Spearman, Texas. The couple was blessed with two children, their daughter Elizabeth and son Kyle.  Over the years Steve had many jobs but spent most of his working career in law enforcement.  He was a police officer in Guymon and Woodward for many years.  His last job before retirement was as manager of the Fairview O'Reilly store.

He is survived by his wife Marie of the home, daughter Elizabeth Hicks of Johnson City, Tennessee and son Kyle Hicks of Stillwater, Oklahoma, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Sam and Elizabeth Hicks, grandparents William and Eddie Faye Miller of Spearman, Texas and mother and father-in-law Richard and Gail King of Woodward, Oklahoma.
