William Bernard Lollman's Obituary
Mass of Christian Burial for William Bernard Lollman, 86, of Fairview, OK, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Fairview. Father Jarek Topolewski will officiate. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Okeene. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.
Rosary will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Church on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.
Bill was born October 9, 1927, five miles west of Okeene near Homestead, OK on the family farm to August Tobias and Rose Mary (Eisterholdz) Lollman and died September 16, 2014. He graduated from high school with the Homestead Class of 1946. Following high school Bill went to work constructing state highway 51 between Okeene and Canton while he continued to help his parents on the farm. Bill joined the United States Army on September 25, 1950 and was honorably discharged September of 1956. He married Roberta Carnahan on Monday, April 2, 1956. He went to work for US Gypsum as soon as he returned from active duty in 1952 and worked there for 40 years. Bill was a rural mail carrier for the US Postal Service for more than 15 years. He stayed busy mowing grass for many people in the Fairview area. Bill and Roberta lived and raised their children in Fairview until 2008 when they moved back to the farm. Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion Post 51 as Sargent at Arms and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved tinkering and going to the annual threshing bee. Oktoberfest was a lot of fun for him bringing back great memories of his time spent in Germany while there in the service and also of his family heritage. Bill was a great family man who loved his wife, children and grandchildren and in turn was deeply loved by his entire family and all who knew him. He truly will be missed.
He is survived by his wife Roberta of Okeene, OK, three sons: Eugene and Kena Lollman of Fairview, OK, John and Jerre Lollman of Waukomis, OK, and Michael "Mike" and Cheri Lollman of Cedar Hill, TX, two daughters; Theresa and Valden "Val" Bryant of Fairview, OK and Denise Holliday of Oklahoma City, OK, and four sisters; Dorothy Roach of Okeene, OK, Louise Gragert of Enid, OK, Patty Walker of Friendship, MD and Betty and David Landwehr of Waukomis, OK, seven grandchildren; Audrey Bryant, Katrina Velasquez, Jason Lollman, Kristina Creech, Justin Lollman, Chelsea Clark and Jena Holliday.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, son, Paul and three brothers-in-law.
Memorial can be made to the American Legion Post 51-Handicapped Accessible Ramp with the Fairview Funeral Home Inc. acting as custodian of the funds.
